I've Created A Book Blog Directory!

What is A Book Blog Directory?
This directory is a project I started because I found I had too many blogs that I want to list on my blogroll on my own book review blog. I love the Blogger format because I can separate blogs into categories and the latest post is always listed. Since Blogger lists the most recent post it's easy to always keep up with what's going on in the book blogging community.

Are you booktuber? Don't worry. I haven't forgotten you. I also have a section for booktube listings.

However, in order for this blog directory to be a success I need the book blogging community to help spread the word. Please tell people in the blogging community about this directory. Use the hashtag #BookBlogDirectory on social media.

How to Have Your Blog Added
All book bloggers and booktubers are welcome to be added to the blogging directory! If you would like yours added please contact me at, comment on a post with your info, or tweet me. Please include your url and what types of books you review.

What Else Do You List?
I also list reading challenges, readathons, weekely blog hops, book giveaways, and blog parties. If you would like to have yours listed please contact me.

Additional Info
I find blogs on my own that I like and list them. If you would like to be removed from the directory or have your category changed please contact me.

Book Blogger Hop: April 20th - 26th

Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer

This week's question is submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews

Question: How do you organize your books for review? Does it work for you or have you had to change it?

Answer: Most of what I read is library books so I can't keep them or make notes in them. So I make notes in a notebook as I go. I write a review at Goodreads that's usually pretty bare bones. I then expand on the review here on my blog.

I'm not a fast reader anymore so keeping track of everything isn't too hard. I remember when I was reading so much that I would have half a dozen reviews to write. I'd spend a whole day getting them done. I miss reading like that.

My kids only have month left of school. Hopefully once I'm not running the kids to school everyday I will have more time to read. And the warm weather and sun does wonders for dealing with bipolar depression. Indiana just doesn't want to let go of winter. It snowed yesterday! Why!?

Announcing My Fun in the Sun Summer Reading Challenge!

Something happens to me when it starts getting hot out. Sure I want to slip on my flip flops, go swimming, and drink some iced lattes but what I really get in the mood for is reading a certain genre of books that are about fun in the sun! So I'm bringing back my seasonal challenge specifically for these books.

 The Rules:

  •  This short term challenge begins June 1, 2018 and ends Aug 31, 2018.
  •  You may sign up anytime during the challenge.
  •  I won't be creating different levels.
  • Read as little or as many books as you want. Even if you just read one book I want you to participate!
  • You may include books of any format including traditional books, ebooks, or audiobooks.
  • Books may be any genre but must have a fun in the sun theme, a cover with these elements on it, or something in the title that is about the theme. This includes everything associated with spring and summer such as weddings, swimming pools, the ocean, beaches, lounge chairs, flowers, sunglasses, palm trees, vacations, the sun, a garden, rain, thunderstorms, heat and so on.
  •  You may reread books. Books may count towards other reading challenges.
  •  Use the hashtag #FunIntheSunRC
  •  If you could be so kind, please place the Fun In the Sun Reading Challenge banner on your blog to help spread the word.
  •  Please link back to this blog, post about it on Facebook, Tweet about it, and so on to help spread the word.

My O.W.Ls Readathon TBR

I am posting this super last minute even though I've had my TBR planned for awhile. The O.W.Ls Readathon starts in less than three hours and runs April 2nd - 29th and is hosted by @MagicalReadathn on Twitter. The PDF explaining the challenges and grading system can be found here. To get an Outstanding grade only 5 books need read.

I'm excited about this month-long readathon because I will be reading books that can count towards my own 2018 Paranormal Reading Challenge and my 2018 Young Adult Reading Challenge.

I may make some changes to my TBR during the readathon. I really want to read The Diviners by Libba Bray for the Divination challenge but it's a tome of 578 pages! I also really want to read The Shape of Water by Guillermo del Toro for Care of Magical Creatures and have it on hold at the library but the queue is long so I don't think I will get it in time.

Before I learned about this challenge I had planned on reading entire The Magicians trilogy by Lev Grossman this month but I may just read the first book. I didn't include it on my TBR because it's on hold and I don't actually have it yet. The only categories it really could fit under is Charms (fantasy book) and Defense of the Dark Arts (secret societies/clubs). I think I may read it for Charms because I really want to read A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab.

There's also other readathons this month that I'd like to participate in. It looks like many of them can easily crossover to these other challenges. I had a really unproductive March and would like to make up for the reading I didn't get done.
