My January Jam Jar TBR and First Pick

I'm a Libra so when I saw Books & Munches was hosting the January Jam Jar Readathon I got excited because I knew I could spend the month of January not plagued by indecision about what to read.

The rules are simple. Put the names of some books in a jar and whatever one you draw you have to read that book.

I'm going to be doing different rounds of this. The first will be with all books that have become movies because I am hosting the #2019BooktoScreenChallenge and want to start it right away. I also plan on participating in #TomeInfinityandBeyond2  this month so some of my choices are also science fiction books.

The second round will be books that have not become movies. I haven't yet decided what books those will be so that TBR will be posted later this month. I do want to choose science fiction books that will count towards Tome Infinity and Beyond.

I haven't decided what I will do after these first two rounds. I suppose it will depend on other readathons going on at the time.

For the first round these are the possible choices:

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald by J.K. Rowling
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer
To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
The Host by Stephanie Meyer
The Shape of Water by Guillermo del Toro and Daniel Kraus
Red Sparrow by Jason Matthews
Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

I know that's a lot of choices. I'm a true Libra, what can I say? Not all of them are science fiction books. The book Red Sparrow is something I've been wanting to read because the movie stars Jennifer Lawrence even though it's honestly really out of my comfort zone. But I promised myself I would stick to whatever I picked no matter what.

Turns out what I picked was actually the book I wanted to read the most! It's not a science fiction book. It is...

I can't believe I got my first choice! That never happens when I do these kinds of games.
